MAIIC & Lilongwe Water Board Tree Planting Exercise

On February 28, 2025, MAIIC, in partnership with Lilongwe Water Board, conducted a successful tree-planting exercise at Kamuzu Dam I in Mamina Village. This initiative aimed to contribute to environmental conservation by planting 500 Mbawa trees, known for their ecological and economic benefits, including carbon sequestration, soil conservation, and sustainable timber production.

Tree planting plays a vital role in mitigating climate change, restoring ecosystems, and preserving water sources. By enhancing forest cover, we protect biodiversity, improve air quality, and promote a healthier environment for future generations.

As a development finance institution, MAIIC integrates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its operations. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond financial solutions to fostering initiatives that promote long-term environmental and social impact. Through this exercise, we reaffirm our dedication to responsible corporate citizenship and the well-being of the communities we serve.

Together, we are investing in a greener, more sustainable future! 🌿🌍
